Mandate primary elections in every election cycle, and avoid bending the rules or interfering in a primary simply because party leadership prefers a certain candidate.
Bring new ideas to the table and explain them to constituents in clear, humble language. Avoid constant attacks and negative rhetoric toward other parties, especially when they make good policy decisions.
Whenever possible, appoint qualified individuals from opposing parties to positions where there is broad policy consensus.
Keep politics out of the military. Specifically, reinstate Mark Milley’s security detail, send an apology letter to C.Q. Brown, and create a path to restore him to service.

Personal

I will prioritize addressing major issues and strengthening our commitment to the working class, rather than focusing on divisive or insignificant matters.
As an engineer and math teacher, I will avoid making hollow statements and instead provide information directly from the source, including the House floor, supported by numbers and data.
I will reject cynicism toward Western values and the foundations of our democracy, and I will support our democratic allies abroad
I will place special emphasis on direct engagement with you, addressing your concerns and answering your questions personally on social media and at town halls, without intermediaries or spokespersons

Philosophy

To restore faith and power to the Democratic Party, we must first listen to the people and their concerns without dismissing them outright. We should demonstrate flexibility in our thinking and a willingness to change our opinions, rather than adhering to every standard set by the party’s most extreme factions. I believe that, generally speaking, there are no absolutely ‘right’ or ‘wrong’ opinions; rather, the right opinion is often determined by the situation and the times. For example, Churchill was not re-elected after the glorious victory of World War II because he was the right leader for wartime, but not necessarily for peacetime. We must also place our military above partisan political debates and treat our veterans with dignity.
